Valerian Sun Club is primarily a members club bringing together Island naturists in a friendly and relaxed club environment. Social functions are held on a regular basis and all maintenance and running of the club is done on a voluntary basis. Through the summer members relax and enjoy the environment and during the winter work days are held to maintain and develop the facilities. These work days are also great way for members to keep in touch through the colder months. We have no paid staff within the club.
Valerian's sun bathing lawns are surrounded by 6 acres of unspoilt woodland, which is a haven for a rich variety of wildlife such as red squirrels, hawks, bats, tree creepers and rare butterflies, plus many wild flowers in spring and early summer.
Valerian is a place of simple pleasure, a place to relax and unwind but within easy access to all of the Islands many attractions.
The club house, opened in 1993, has facilities for cooking, eating and washing-up, whilst the showers and loos are housed in their own purpose built block opened in 1996.
A space for games is also available. The barbecue is a very popular feature of the club with both members and visitors alike
Blackgang and Culver naturist beaches are less than 10 miles away.
Valerian is within easy walking distance of the village of Havenstreet with its pub and the famous Steam Railway. A Good bus service passes close by giving easy access to the Island.
We extend a warm welcome to members of other C.C.B.N. and INF clubs, with Day visitors welcome by prior arrangement.
The Valerian Sun Club is the perfect base for naturist camping, caravanning and motor caravanning holidays here on the Isle of Wight, with good access for all types of vehicles, hard standings for caravans and motor homes and level pitches for tents.
